Here two more recordings by the Senior Dagar Brothers from the archives of All India Rado (AIR). I received these recordings in the late 1990s from VN, a Dhrupad collector from UK. The recordings in our previous post might also come orginally from him. Many many thanks to him. Our friend KF made a CD out of them and created a cover. Also many thanks to him.
Like the Jayjayvanti in our previous post also the Gunkali here is different from the one on the commercial CD from Akashvani. See below.
Here a commercial CD from the Archives of Akashvani (All India Radio). It can be obtained from: info@raga-maqam-dastgah.com
Dagar Brothers: Nasir Moinuddin Dagar (1919-1966) & Nasir Aminuddin Dagar (1923-2000) (Vocal) - Dhrupad Tradition of Dagarvani - Akashvani Sangeet: Raga Gunkali (29:51), Raga Jaijaiwanti (29:43), AKASHVANI ARCHIVES, H-28
Wonderful recordings by the Senior Dagar Brothers, their only studio recordings available on CD.

thank you so much!! I was always looking for the SR Dagar Bros, but all i had from them was a Darbari & a Todi.... This is great to finally hear more of them.
Thanks much for the share Tawfiq Saab. Do note that the third image you have shared (Akashvani CD snapshot) is not displaying
Thanks for sharing this widely and hopefully ensuring its survival over time.
i picked up this (2015 reissue) CD recently from Prasad Bharati's stall at the International Book Fair, New Delhi https://www.discogs.com/Dagar-Brothers-Akashvani-Sangeet-Dhrupad-Tradition-Of-Dagarvani/release/11410008 if it's the Senior Dagar Brothers? if so, then the images they used are obviously wrong
Yes, the CD is for sure by the Senior Dagar Brothers. The old version of the CD had the cover I showed. But the new reedition has the Junior Dagar Brothers on the cover: typical Indian, I guess. The Sen. and Jun. Dagars are quite easy to distinguish as they have quite easily identifyable voices, especially the voice of Moinuddin Dagar is easy to recognize.
thanks for that clarification, Tawfiq Saheb.
ok, i have revised the discogs entry. i added some notes etc. https://www.discogs.com/release/11410008
i understand it is/was rare for Dagars to perform/record with sarangi. any information on who was on sarangi on Jaijaiwanti (from AIR archives)?
As AIR had a rule that Hindoustani singers should be accompanied by Sarangi and not Harmonium, also most of their Dhrupad recordings were accompanied by Sarangi. Names are rarely mentioned unless one has also recorded the announcement, which is not the case here.
Assallammualeikum, Tawfiq Sahab, man se dua karta hu aap ke liye; main Guruon ka Brindavani Sarang kabh se dhoond raha tha! Bahut shukriyaa. Khuda Hafiz.
Actually it used to be the tradition in the family to be accompanied by sarangi, however my teacher (the late Ustad H Sayeeduddin Dagar) said when I asked, that it was difficult to find a true accompanist.
