Ustad Rais Khan (25 November 1939 – 6 May 2017) passed away yesterday. May his soul rest in peace.

We posted in September 2014 a cassette by the great Ustad, who had a very personal and beautiful style and a wonderful touch:

Our blogger friend on Flat, Black and Classical: Indian Classical Music on Vinyl and Cassette posted in July 2016 an LP published in 1980 in Germany:

tawfiq, I so enjoy all the music you post. Much appreciated. I feel I have enough to spin for the rest of my days. I have - in terrible shape - a K7 I copied from an LP, featuring a jugalbandi between Brij Bushan Kabra and Rais Khan - one of the more intense jugalbandi I ever heard and am wondering if anyone has these old Odeon Jugalbandi from mid-60's to share. there were others with the at the time youngsters Shiv Kumar Sharma, etc.

Thank you again.
